Kris Maddalena Named Chief Nursing Officer at Arkansas Children's

Arkansas Children's Hospital has hired former AdventHealth of Tampa, Florida, executive Kris Maddalena as senior vice president and chief nursing officer.

Maddalena, who has 15 years of experience in nursing leadership, began working in the role earlier this month. She now leads the largest division of the hospital's workforce, overseeing clinical and administrative planning and monitoring and evaluating patient care.

"Kris has a track record of fostering a culture of ownership through accountability, respect, continuous improvement and shared governance. ... We couldn’t be more excited to see how her leadership further strengthens our commitment to delivering unprecedented child health," Jamie Wiggins, chief operating officer at Arkansas Children’s, said in a news release. 

Maddalana grew up in Arkansas and began her health career as a patient care technician at Arkansas Children's. Before joining AdventHealth, she held leadership positions during at SSM Health in Missouri and University of Florida Health in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Maddalena holds a master's in nursing from Chamberlain University and a bachelor's in nursing from UAMS. Her professional certifications include a nurse executive certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
