The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine has invested two chairs. Dr. Jonathan Laryea has been invested in the Nolie and Norma Mumey Endowed Chair in Surgery. Laryea is the chief of the Division of Colorectal Surgery in the Department of Surgery and medical director of cancer services at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. Dr. Matthew Steliga has been invested in the Kent C. Westbrook M.D. Distinguished Chair in Surgical Oncology. Stelgia is chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery in the UAMS Department of Surgery and a tenured professor of surgery in the UAMS College of Medicine.
Dr. Amr Ismail is a new pulmonologist for Conway Regional Multispecialty Clinic. He completed his pulmonology and critical care fellowship and residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock, Texas.
Amanda Kennedy has joined Mercy Sleep Center in Berryville. Kennedy is a nurse practitioner and has 16 years of health care experience.
Mike Mudd is the new COO of Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers. Mudd will work with other leaders on the $500 million expansion project underway in northwest Arkansas.
Dr. Avnish Tripathi has joined the team of cardiologists at the CHI St. Vincent Heart Institute. Tripathi completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at Mass General Hospital and Harvard University. He will see patients at the Unity Health Cardiology Clinic in Searcy.
Carol Wynn has joined Mercy Clinic Family Medicine in Green Forest as a nurse practitioner. She has 20 years of experience.
Trey Hankins has been named director of CX/DX and design for Arkansas Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Little Rock. Hankins joined the company in 2006 and will now oversee the design team and develop a new customer experience strategy.
