Arkansas State University has announced that Randall and Jeanette Pope have established the Pope Family A-State Fund Endowment, with a lifetime giving commitment of more than $1 million.

Most of the endowment will benefit students through scholarships for agricultural business or early childhood education, the university said in a news release.

Randall and Jeanette were both raised in northeast Arkansas and attended ASU in the 1970s. He is a former managing director and senior portfolio manager for Prudential Financial Inc. and a former owner and partner in The Westchester Group, a national farmland investment management company.

Randall Pope was a member of the Arkansas State University System Foundation Board from 2002 until 2012 and the inaugural chair of the ASU Real Estate Foundation in 2012. He has also been a member of the ASU College of Agriculture’s advisory board since 2011.

“We have been incredibly fortunate with the opportunities that have been presented to us over the last several years,” the Popes said in a news release. “Our Arkansas State experience was an important part of recognizing and accepting those opportunities. For that, we owe A-State more than we can ever repay.”
