UA Little Rock Scholarship to Support Working Students

UA Little Rock Scholarship to Support Working Students
(UA Little Rock)

The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is starting a scholarship to help students who work to support themselves during college.

The scholarship is funded through a $50,000 donation from Cyril Hollingsworth, a lawyer with Wright Lindsey & Jennings LLP of Little Rock. Hollingsworth made the donation in memory of his mother, Beth Bevill Hollingsworth, and in honor of his wife, Betsy Hug Hollingsworth.

Beth Bevill Hollingsworth worked as a registered nurse to support her sons while pursuing a degree in nursing at Little Rock Junior College, a precursor to UA Little Rock, the university said in a news release.

The scholarship will be provided to a part-time or full-time freshman, transfer, or continuing student at UA Little Rock based on financial need. It will provide assistance for education-related expenses, including tuition, books, fees, and room and board.
