Stephanie Blevins has joined the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement of Little Rock as director of northwest Arkansas community engagement. Blevins comes to the newly created role from the office of Gov. Asa Hutchinson, where she was his northwest Arkansas district representative.

Arwa Albashaireh
Arwa Albashaireh (UAMS)

Dr. Arwa Albashaireh has joined the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences of Little Rock as an assistant professor in the Division of Endocrinology & Metabolism. In addition to teaching, she will treat diabetes and thyroid, adrenal and pituitary issues. She will also perform thyroid biopsies in the UAMS Endocrinology Clinic.

Aaron Strobel
Aaron Strobel (Baptist Health Heart Institute/Arkansas Cardiology Clinic)

Dr. Aaron Strobel is now seeing patients at Baptist Health Heart Institute/Arkansas Cardiology Clinic in Little Rock. Strobel graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and then trained at the University of Colorado for 10 years, where he was chief resident and chief cardiology fellow.

Waid Rainey has joined the Conway Regional Health System as a creative specialist.

Nathan Voise
Nathan Voise (CHI St. Vincent)

Dr. Nathan Voise has joined CHI St. Vincent Hot Springs as a gastroenterology hospitalist. 

Heather Miller is the new director of education and training at World Services for the Blind of Little Rock. Before joining World Services for the Blind, Miller served as a prosecutor. She lost her sight in 2018, and joined the nonprofit as a scholarship client in 2021.

Barbara Scott
Barbara Scott (Salvation Army, Central Arkansas Area Command)

Barbara Scott is the new director of development at the Salvation Army, Central Arkansas Area Command. Scott previously served as an office manager and interim executive director at the National Guard Association of Arkansas.

UA Little Rock Public Radio has elected its new board members. The members, who will serve three-year terms from 2023 to 2025, are Stephanie Alderdice, president of 61 Celsius; Jay Barth, director of the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum; Lamar Davis, counsel at Wright Lindsey Jennings; Kevin Jones, retired correctional officer; Eric McDaniel, senior manager at Acxiom; Kathleen McDonald, regulatory and compliance officer at Aristotle Unified Communications; and Ruth Sheppard, retired executive director of Just Communities of Arkansas. Kevin Jones also received the 2022 Beverly Ann Lacefield Award. Jones is a longtime volunteer and received the award for his exceptional service to public radio.

Jana Haskins
Jana Haskins (Beck Center for Veterans)

Jana Haskins is the new director of the Beck Center for Veterans at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Haskins joins the university after 12 years with St. Bernards Medical Center of Jonesboro, most recently in the counseling center. She has also worked as an adjunct professor in the university’s social work program since 2015.

Claudette Hackworth and Justin Stewart
Claudette Hackworth and Justin Stewart (Black River Technical College)

Claudette Hackworth has been promoted to associate registrar at Black River Technical College of Pocahontas. She was previously working as a secretary at the college. Justin Stewart has been hired as a science instructor at the college. He will teach physical science and biology. He earned a master’s in biology from Clemson University in South Carolina.

Williams Baptist University of Walnut Ridge has welcomed five new members to its board of trustees. The new members are Susan Shell Allison of Benton; LeAnn Caudle of Bentonville; Larry Singleton of Paragould, who has previously served on the board; Blake Swindle of Benton; and Amy Williams of Cabot. The board has 24 members, who are appointed by the Arkansas Baptist State Convention.
