Steven Grandfield has been promoted to chief operating officer of Lexicon Inc. of Little Rock. He will work out of the company’s headquarters in Little Rock, where he will oversee all of Lexicon’s daily operations, collaborate with the executive management team to set and meet business objectives and review the efficiency of business functions. “As a longtime Lexicon employee, Steve’s strengths of patience, organizational awareness, relationship building and scheduling position him to step into this new role and drive our culture of success,” said Patrick Schueck, Lexicon’s CEO. “Steve will strengthen our processes and procedures and take our operational execution to new levels of excellence.” As COO, Grandfield will work to optimize Lexicon’s wide range of services, which includes construction management, steel fabrication and plant maintenance for heavy industrial, commercial and bridge projects, as well as golf course construction, renovation and management.
In his nearly 20 years since joining Lexicon, Grandfield has worked in several management positions, most recently as president of the Lexicon Fabrication Group, which comprises the divisions of Prospect Steel, Custom Metals and Steel Fabricators of Monroe, Louisiana. Before that, he was president of Prospect Steel for three years and the vice president for seven. He also served as director of projects, engineering manager and as a senior project manager at Prospect Steel. Grandfield has worked on projects including the Tesla Assembly building in Austin, Texas, and numerous Amazon facilities across the country. Before joining Lexicon in 2003, Grandfield worked in Australia as a structural engineer at SEMF Holdings Consulting Engineers and Pitt & Sherry Consulting Engineers.
Grandfield graduated with honors from the University of Tasmania in Australia. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil and structural engineering.
