Construction
April Matthews has joined Chenal Restoration-DKI of Little Rock as a marketing representative. She previously worked five years for Dillard’s Inc. as a brand manager for women’s clothing design.

Education
Don Maness has been named dean of the College of Education of Arkansas State University at Jonesboro. Maness, currently associate dean, will assume the post Aug. 16. He replaces John Beneike, who has chosen to return to teaching after 10 years of service.

Engineering
Roy Andrews and Jay Young have been named partners at Development Consultants Inc. Andrews, with 10 years of engineering experience, will work as a project coordinator in the Little Rock office. Young, who has 13 years of land-surveying experience, has been appointed manager of the Fayetteville office.

Financial Services
Darrell Annis has joined Regions Bank in Russellville as vice president and community relationship banker. Annis has worked as a city president for AmSouth Bank in the Mississippi market and as a Regions community relationship banker in Washington County.

Government
Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., was recently presented the National Children Alliance’s Bud Cramer Award for her work to ensure the safety and well-being of children in Arkansas and across the nation. She was nominated for the award by Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas, a member of the alliance.

Charles M. Miller, vice president and director of legislation and regulation for the Arkansas Bankers Association, has been elected president of the Arkansas Society of Professional Lobbyists. Len Pitcock of Cox Communications has been elected vice president, and Tom Parker of the Arkansas Petroleum Council has been elected secretary/treasurer.

Health Care
Drs. Richard Harper and Paul Phillips were honored at a double investiture ceremony at the Harvey & Bernice Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Harper was awarded the Sally McSpadden Boreham Chair in Ophthalmology, and Phillips received the Stella Boyle Smith/Gissur J. Petursson, M.D., Chair in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Manjusha Kota has joined the medical staff at St. Joseph’s Mercy Clinic in Hot Springs. Kota earned her degree at Gunter Medical College in India. She specializes in oncology-hematology and has spent the last four years working with the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital in Little Rock.

Mike McNutt has been appointed to the board of directors of the North Arkansas Regional Medical Center at Harrison. He is currently the president of Distribution Solutions Inc. and HTI at Harrison. His board term will expire in December 2013.

Legal
Randy Bueter of Wilson & Associates of Little Rock has been appointed to the organization and redistricting committee, the long-range planning committee and the house committee of the Arkansas Bar Association. Honored at the ABA’s annual meeting last week were Phillip E. Kaplan, Alice F. Lightle, Amy Freedman, Matthew R. House, Tom D. Womack, William A. Waddell, John C. Calhoun, Jr. and Sidney H. McCollum.

Manufacturing
Scott R. Goodspeed has been appointed thermal spray market manager, a new position, at Farr Air Pollution Control of Jonesboro, a manufacturer of dust- and fume-collection equipment. He has 36 years of sales, managerial and technical experience in the thermal spray industry.

Real Estate
Delaine Carter has joined Crye-Leike Realtors’ regional headquarters sales center in Maumelle. She has been a licensed sales associate for seven years. Barry Beard has been named executive broker for the Fayetteville West branch office. The 20-year real estate veteran previously owned and operated his own real estate company. Also, Rick and Shirley Ramick have joined the Hot Springs branch office. They bring with them six licensed real estate agents: Sylvia Bryant, Nicole Albright, Severyn Ciosmak, Amy Ford, Jeff Scott and John Vise.
