Retail sales in central Arkansas fell 1.5% in 2022, compared with 2021, according to a February report by Metroplan.
But retail sales have been volatile in recent years, it said, noting that 2021 was a strange year, with sales pumped up by stimulus funds. After a 10.9 rise in 2021, 2022’s slump was “comparatively minor,” the agency said.
