The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded a $157,050 grant to Kirk Field, the city of Paragould's municipal airport, for runway upgrades and a new guidance system.

Funds will be used to improve access through new runway and taxi markings, and four new runway end identifier lights, the city announced on Facebook.

The airport on 220 acres was built in 1958. It has two runways. One is 4,500 feet long, and the other is 2,500 feet long.
