Trio's Restaurant in Little Rock announced that it will reopen Monday after being closed for about seven weeks due to tornado damage.
"We can't wait to see you!!!" the restaurant said in a Facebook post.
The restaurant is located at the Pavilion in the Park retail center at 8201 Cantrell Road, which was hit hard by the March 31 tornado. The owners of the 82,000-SF, mixed-use building temporarily suspended public use and tenant occupancy over safety concerns.
Trio's co-owner Capi Peck told Arkansas Business last week that business interruption insurance, which pays for inventory and a percentage of sales, had allowed the restaurant to make payroll for its 48 employees since the tornado.
Support also came from customers, who purchased thousands of dollars worth of gift certificates.
May is traditionally Trio’s second-busiest month, after December. It’s also the season for the restaurant’s famed strawberry shortcake.
"Start salivating," the restaurant said on Facebook, "because we are still in Arkansas berry season."
