D.R. Horton Inc. of Arlington, Texas, continues to expand its footprint in the northwest Arkansas real estate market.
D.R. Horton, the nation’s largest homebuilder since 2002, paid $1.4 million for 16 lots in the Hylton Place subdivision in Springdale. The subdivision is in Phase 2 of construction.
Sales prices for homes in the east Springdale subdivision start at about $300,000 and go up to $400,000.
D.R. Horton has been active in the robust northwest Arkansas market the past couple of years before solidifying its presence by acquiring Riggins Custom Homes of Fayetteville for $107 million in December 2022.
That purchase included 3,000 lots Riggins owned as well as 170 homes in inventory and 172 more in a sales order backlog. Riggins was involved in building in Hylton Place in the first phase.
The seller of the 16 lots was Chancad Two LLC, led by Brian Moore of Springdale. Moore is the president of the Engineering Services Inc., which provides services for residential lot development.
Chancad purchased the lots for $630,000 in October 2022. They had been co-owned by Moore and Kevin Riggins, co-owner of Riggins Custom Homes.
