Arkansas Children's on Friday announced that it received a $1.2 million pledge from restaurant chain Panda Express' philanthropic foundation, Panda Cares.
The pledge will support the hospital school at Arkansas Children's.
Fred Scarborough, executive vice president and chief communications development officer for Arkansas Children's, said Panda Cares' four pillars of child well-being — mental, emotional, physical and spiritual — complement the pediatric care system's goals.
“This generous support from Panda Express helps advance the mission of championing children by making them better today and healthier tomorrow,” he said in a news release.
Since 2007, Panda Express has raised more than $150 million for members of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through donations from the restaurant chain's employees and guests.
"Children are our future, and through this partnership and curriculum designed to give children the strength to thrive, we will bring smiles and hope to communities nationwide," Peggy Cherng, co-founder and co-CEO of Panda Restaurant Group, said in the release.
