First State Bank of Russellville announced that Christie Turner will lead the bank in the Fayetteville area as market president.

Turner first began working for First State Bank in 2003 as a part-time teller. She rejoined the lender in 2018 as a senior vice president and commercial loan officer. In between, she held leadership positions at Metropolitan Bank, U.S. Bank, Tyson Foods and Signature Bank of Arkansas.

In a news release, First State Bank said Turner has been "instrumental" to its growth in the region. Under her leadership, the lender opened a full-service branch in Fayetteville.

"This promotion is a testament to Christie’s leadership, expertise, and
exceptional service within our bank and community," the release says.

Turner recently graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado. She's also a graduate of Leadership Fayetteville, Leadership Arkansas, and the Arkansas Bankers Association Commercial Lending School.
