► Jan. 28: John Glasgow, 45, chief financial officer of CDI Contractors of Little Rock, is seen driving away from his home on South Lookout Street in Little Rock shortly after 5 a.m. on a Monday morning. He never arrives at work that day and doesn't respond to calls to his cellphone, so his wife, Melinda, makes a missing-person report to the Little Rock Police Department shortly before 6 p.m.
►Jan. 29: With electronic cellphone "pings" as clues, Glasgow's Volvo SUV is found parked in front of Mather Lodge in Petit Jean State Park in Conway County. A tourist's date-stamped photos prove that it was there by 4:30 p.m. the previous day.
► Feb. 2: The official search on Petit Jean is suspended after five days. George Stowe-Rains of the Arkansas Forestry Commission, who led the search, later tells Arkansas Business that he doesn't think Glasgow was there to be found. "If he was on that mountain, we'd have found him. I feel relatively certain that we would have."
► Feb. 28: Arkansas Business reports that Glasgow was in an accounting dispute with Dillard's Inc., half-owner of CDI Contractors, at the time of his disappearance. In a joint statement, Dillard's and CDI say there was no suspicion that Glasgow had misappropriated any money and that his job was not in jeopardy.
2009
►Jan. 29: After a year in which absolutely no concrete clues are discovered, despite a reward offer that eventually reaches $100,000, Arkansas Business reports that Glasgow's family have concluded that he is probably dead.
►February: Conde Nast's Portfolio magazine, later a casualty of the Great Recession, publishes a feature on Glasgow's disappearances that focuses mainly on the strained relationship with Dillard's Inc.
►July 31: Two men attempt to abduct commodities broker James M. Daven outside his home near Menifee in Conway County about 7:30 a.m. Daven fights back and his stepson fires a shot from inside the house, killing one of the assailants and scaring the other away. By the end of the day, Daven's former employee, Jonathan Brawner, and three other people, including the second assailant, have been arrested.
►Nov. 10: Jon Brawner pleads guilty to robbery in the Daven case, and his co-defendants will follow his lead.
2010
►June 14: Jon Brawner is paroled after serving 202 days, most of it in boot camp.
►October: Brawner is arrested and charged with stalking his ex-wife, Renea. Unable to raise $50,000 bail, he remains in the Faulkner County jail.
►Nov. 29: NBC's Investigation Discovery channel debuts an hour-long report on John Glasgow's disappearance, and periodic reruns keep the mystery in front of a national audience.
2011
►April 14: Pulaski County Judge H. Vann Smith grants Melinda Glasgow's petition to have John declared dead.
►April 26: Testifying in Faulkner County Circuit Court, Renea Brawner of Vilonia says her ex-husband "told me that he had helped a friend of his in Little Rock bury a body." Convicted of stalking and with his secret now in the public record, Brawner soon offers to help the LRPD find John Glasgow's body in hopes of bargaining for a reduced sentence.
►Summer: Brawner, 43, leads investigators to a bean field near England in Lonoke County, but a limited search is fruitless. A thorough search is planned for early 2012.
2012
►Jan. 11: KARK-TV, Channel 4, reports that Brawner has claimed to have helped bury the body of Little Rock construction executive John Glasgow just outside Pulaski County almost four years ago. It is the first major news development since Glasgow's car was found at Petit Jean.
