Green Bay long snapper and former Razorback Brett Goode reached the top of his sport Sunday when his Packers beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 in Super Bowl XLV. Goode recently signed a contract extension with the team good until 2012.

Another professional football player from Arkansas is improving his financial profile. Peyton Hillis has one year left on his rookie contract and is set to make $555,000 in 2011 with the Cleveland Browns before becoming a restricted free agent.

The Arkansas Razorback men's basketball team entered last week poised to make a move in the Southeastern Conference standings and prove once and for all that it was an improved program. The Razorbacks, after all, were coming off a victory against a Top 25 opponent on the road and hadn’t lost at home. Instead, the Hogs ended the week with two consecutive home losses, including Saturday’s 69-60 disappointment against Ole Miss.

The Ragin' Cajuns made two free throws with one second remaining to lift Louisiana-Lafayette to a 67-66 win over UALR Saturday night.

Arkansas State's defense held Denver to 13 first-half points and the Red Wolves went on to an easy 60-35 win over the Pioneers Saturday night.
