Report: Arkansas January Homes Sales Down 27 Percent


Home sales in Arkansas fell 27 percent in January, according to the latest housing report from the Arkansas Realtors Association.

Benton County saw the biggest decline in homes sales, falling 29.5 percent in January compared to January 2008. Washington County sales dropped 24.1 percent, Pulaski County was down 20.3 percent, Sebastian County was down 16.0 percent and Faulkner County was down 14.4 percent.

The report also showed average home prices in Arkansas down 8.3 percent to $134,332 in January.
