Navigator to Sell Birch 30,000 Business Lines

1 min read

Navigator Telecommunications LLC of North Little Rock has agreed to sell about 30,000 business access lines to Birch Communications Inc. of Atlanta.

The deal will boost Birch’s customer base to more than 325,000 access lines.

Birch said the transaction would enable it to continue increasing its customer density in many existing markets, including Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and Missouri, and expand its market coverage to Arkansas and California.

Financial terms of the transaction weren’t disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in October.

"This move further advances our strategy to be a leader in serving the voice and broadband communications needs of small and medium business customers across a footprint of 31 states," Birch CEO Vincent Oddo said in a news release.

Access Integrated Networks, which bought Kansas City-based Birch Telecom Inc. in February for an undisclosed amount, changed its name July 1 to Birch Communications.
