Nelson Miller Convicted on All Counts

Former Little Rock mortgage broker Nelson Miller was convicted Monday afternoon by a federal court jury on one count of conspiracy and 15 counts of wire fraud.

The guilty verdict ended Miller's second trial on the charges; his first trial ended with a hung jury.

Miller, who owned Freedom Financial Services, is the ninth and final defendant convicted of airbrushing loan applications to make borrowers appear more creditworthy than they were. Seven co-defendants pleaded guilty to various charges and an eighth, Bertram Case "Casey" Miller (no relation to Nelson Miller), was convicted by a jury and is scheduled to begin a four-month prison sentence on Feb. 11.
