Huckabee Makes Judicial Appointments

Gov. Mike Huckabee on Wednesday appointed the following attorneys to judicial positions:
• Lynn Williams to District Judge, Division 1, in Garland County/Hot Springs District Court. Williams is the judicial representative to the Arkansas Professional Bail Bondsman Licensing Board and has previously been appointed to the Crime Victims’ Reparations Board and as Special Justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court. Williams will fill the unexpired term of the Honorable Marcia Hearnsberger, who was recently elected Garland County Circuit Judge and will resign as district judge on Dec. 31.
• Rhonda Wood to Circuit Judge, 20th Judicial District in Faulkner, Van Buren and Searcy counties. Wood is the former assistant dean of student development at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Law School. Wood will fill the unexpired term of the Honorable Linda Collier, who is retiring after 10 years as juvenile judge. Wood will begin her position on Jan. 1.
• Frank Arey to Circuit Judge, 15th Judicial District in Logan, Scott and Yell counties. Arey is an administrative law judge at the Arkansas Workers’ Compensation Commission. Arey will fill the unexpired term of Judge Paul Danielson, who will take his seat on the Arkansas Supreme Court on Jan. 1.
• Steve Tabor to Circuit Judge, 12th Judicial District in Sebastian County. Tabor is in his second term as Sebastian County prosecutor. Tabor fills the unexpired term of Judge Jim Marschewski, who resigns on Jan. 1 to be sworn in as U.S. magistrate for the Western District of Arkansas.
