6 Companies Win Global Trade Awards

Six companies recently won 2021 Governor’s Awards for Excellence in Global Trade.

They are:

  • Gerdau, a major producer of steel products headquartered in Brazil. One of the company’s business units is Gerdau Special Steel North America, which comprises two steel making facilities including one in Fort Smith.

  • Alliance Rubber Co., which has been manufacturing banding products at their manufacturing facility in Hot Springs since 1923. Their products have industrial, office, medical and agricultural applications and are sold in more than 55 countries. 

  • ECOJOHN, a North Little Rock manufacturing company that specializes in offering waste management for off-grid, remote, and mobile applications. Their products include efficient waterless incinerating toilets and wastewater incinerators that eliminate the need for a septic tank or dumping black water tanks. 

  • Leather Brothers Inc. of Conway, a fourth-generation leather working business that provides OmniPet products to dealers and distributors worldwide. The company also won the 2021 Arkansas Rising Star Award.

  • Lycus Ltd. of El Dorado, the only domestic manufacturer of certain UV absorbers. The facility is a wholesaler and contract manufacturer serving the world’s leading chemical companies with ultraviolet light absorbers for plastics, coatings, and personal care applications. 

  • Chandler Equipment Inc. of Springdale, a manufacturer of truck accessories for a variety of customers in the agriculture, food, oil and gas, and transportation industries. The Chandler family operates five companies that manufacture accessories and supplies for the energy industry and provide liquid transportation parts all over the world. 

In 2021, the Arkansas District Export Council said, awards were given to exporters who through the innovative and thoughtful development of the export market were able to successfully overcome the economic impacts of the pandemic and retain at least 95% of their workforce.
