7 Brew Coffee Hits 500-Store Milestone

2 min read

7 Brew Drive-Thru Coffee of Fayetteville on Monday announced the opening of its 500th location, a milestone for one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in the U.S.

The company, which launched in Rogers in 2017, now operates in 35 states. The 500th location is in Toms River, New Jersey.

Since 2019, 7 Brew has grown by 4,000%, the company said in a news release.

Arkansas Business reported that 7 Brew’s expansion was supercharged in 2021 with a majority investment from Drink House Holdings, led by a couple of heavy hitters in the restaurant industry: Jamie B. Coulter, founder of Lone Star Steakhouse, and Jimmy John Liautaud, the founder and former chairman of Jimmy John’s sandwich chain.

Liautaud sold his stake to investment management firm Blackstone Inc. of New York in 2024. Publicly traded Blackstone, which has more than $1 trillion in assets under management, said it planned to help 7 Brew accelerate its already-rapid growth.

7 Brew’s business model is different from that of Starbucks and other branded coffee chains like Dunkin’ Donuts. 7 Brew focuses almost exclusively on drive-through business with its double drive-through lanes. The 500-SF buildings themselves are standardized, with most of them modular, prefabricated structures with no interior sit-down space.

7 Brew is led by CEO John Davidson. It offers over 20,000 unique drink combinations, including energy drinks, smoothies, shakes and teas.

QSR magazine, one of the leading sources of reporting on the quick-service and fast-casual restaurant industry, reported that 7 Brew’s profit soared to $18.4 million in 2024, up from $1.6 million in 2023 and a loss of $2.6 million in 2022.

Revenue in 2024 was said to be $43.5 million, up from $15.4 million the previous year.

The company recently hired its first chief supply officer and first chief people officer.
