The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded $786,000 in American Rescue Plan funds to 12 community health centers in Arkansas.
The money, provided through the Health Resources and Services Administration, will help the health centers collect data on patient health status and social determinants of health.
The initiative also aims to advance COVID-19 response, mitigation, and recovery efforts, and help prepare for future public health emergencies.
The health centers each received $65,000. They are:
- ARCare Augusta, Augusta
- Mid-Delta Health Systems, Clarendon
- 1st Choice Healthcare, Corning
- Mainline Health Systems, Dermott
- Cabun Rural Health Services, Hampton
- Lee County Cooperative Clinic, Marianna
- Boston Mountain Rural Health Center, Marshall
- Healthy Connections, Mena
- Jefferson Comprehensive Care System, Pine bluff
- River Valley Primary Care Services, Ratcliff
- St. Francis House NWA, Springdale
- East Arkansas Family Health Center, West Memphis
“Community health centers have played a pivotal role in the nation’s COVID-19 response, and now serve more than 30 million people across the country,” HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra said in a news release. “Today’s investments will help ensure that all patients have equitable access to the high-quality health care they deserve.”
