Wal-Mart Foundation Gives $150,000 Grant To Help Mercy Fort Smith NICU

Mercy Fort Smith received a $150,000 contribution from the Wal-Mart Foundation to assist with the purchase of critical care equipment for the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

The grant, giving through the Wal-Mart Foundation’s State Giving Program, will help with the launch of Mercy’s “Making Babies Healthy” program. Through the program Mercy hopes to decrease the number of days infants spend in its 25-bed NICU unit.

Last year in Arkansas, Walmart, Sam’s Club locations and the Walmart Foundation awarded more than $72 million to local organizations.
