In May, the FINRA Investor Education Foundation released its 2012 National Financial Capability Study, which examines Americans’ handling of money and their knowledge of financial products and use of those products. FINRA is the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, the largest regulator of securities firms that conduct business in the United States. The FINRA Foundation, based in Washington, D.C., is a nonprofit that works to educate Americans about economic and financial issues.
The 2012 study builds on findings of the first study, done in 2009. For more information, visit USFinancialCapability.org or FINRAFoundation.org.
