Attracting the Best, Keeping the Talented (From the Publisher)

Attracting the Best, Keeping the Talented (From the Publisher)

It’s not easy attracting and keeping a talented workforce. Without a capable and engaged team, it is difficult for a business to continue to move forward.

High turnover in an organization can have a detrimental impact on the bottom line, while the cost of recruitment seems to soar higher and higher.

My father worked for the same company for more than 40 years, but that is a rarity in today’s workplaces. Today’s employees are more mobile and more demanding. Companies that have created a culture of excitement and progress often find themselves attracting more and more talent, while other companies struggle.

Twelve Arkansas businesses have earned the distinction of being named among the state’s Best Places to Work because they have created an environment for employees that is unique and rewarding.

Arkansas Business partnered with the renowned Best Companies Group to gather detailed information about participating companies in the state. Best Companies Group used a sophisticated set of tools to identify the businesses worthy of this unique accolade.

Companies were judged on a host of factors including employee satisfaction with leadership, corporate culture and internal communication. The survey also allowed employees to provide feedback on the work environment, relationships with supervisors and how well the company did on training and development.

In addition to being profiled in this special edition of Arkansas Business, the 12 businesses that have earned this award and their staff members were celebrated at an event on Sept. 17. Cross Gunter Witherspoon & Galchus PC was recognized with the inaugural Benchmark Award. The event, presented by Baptist Health, was held at the DoubleTree Hotel in downtown Little Rock.

Congratulations to these 12 businesses for leading the way in creating dynamic and successful workplace cultures.

Sincerely,
