David T. Resch has been named special agent in charge of the FBI's Little Rock division.
The announcement came Monday from FBI Director James B. Comey in Washington D.C.
Resch takes over from Howard S. Marshall, who has been acting special agent in charge of the division since the departure last fall of Randall C. Coleman, who had been special agent in charge since May 2012.
Resch most recently served as chief of the tactical operations section in the FBI’s Operational Technology Division in Quantico, Va. He began his career with the FBI in 1996 and has worked in Houston and Richmond, Va., and his areas of specialty have included crimes against children and time-sensitive crimes involving threats of violence and terrorism.
Resch began his career as a special agent with the FBI in 1996. He was first assigned to the Houston Division, where he primarily worked criminal matters and served as the crimes against children coordinator and the kidnapping coordinator.
Before joining the FBI, Resch served in the Army as an infantry lieutenant and a military intelligence captain. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Western Kentucky University and a master’s degree in international relations from Boston University.
