One of the larger restaurant franchisee businesses in the country has added to its operation.
K-MAC Holdings Corp. of Fort Smith acquired 21 Taco Bell restaurants from Ricksim Inc., a Taco Bell restaurant franchisee in the Oklahoma City market, on Tuesday.
K-MAC is owned by Brentwood Associates, a private equity investment firm in Los Angeles. K-MAC is one of the larger Taco Bell franchisees in the country.
"We are privileged to be able to continue to support the growth of a great company in K-MAC and a fantastic brand in Taco Bell," Brentwood Associates managing director Rahul Aggarwal said in a news release.
Before Tuesday's acquisition, it operated 275 YUM! brand restaurants in the Taco Bell and KFC systems, and six Golden Corral restaurants.
"This acquisition brings K-MAC's restaurant count to 56 across the state of Oklahoma, and it will allow us to pursue additional new unit development opportunities in the market," K-MAC president and CEO Sam Fiori said.
K-MAC, founded in 1964, has restaurants throughout the south central region of the country with establishments in Arkansas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas.
