Wal-Mart Gives $450,000 Grant to NWA Council

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville announced a $450,000 grant to the Northwest Arkansas Council on Tuesday at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers.

The company provided the funds for council projects that promote economic development, diversity and inclusion.

“At Wal-Mart, we are dedicated to fostering growth and prosperity in our hometown of northwest Arkansas,” said Kathleen McLaughlin, president of the Wal-Mart Foundation. “That’s why we provide support to organizations like the Northwest Arkansas Council, so we can help further economic development here at home.”

The council said the grant will help more than 500,000 residents in the region through projects that focus on improving education, job opportunities and infrastructure. “We’re excited to see Wal-Mart and the Wal-Mart Foundation continue to positively impact the lives of all people who live in northwest Arkansas,” said Mike Malone, the council CEO.
