
Four companies have partnered with Arkansas State University to help their employees who want to earn credit hours toward a degree.
A-State is offering up to 25 scholarships of $1,000 each to employees of Centennial Bank, Hytrol Conveyor Co. Inc., DENSO Manufacturing Arkansas Inc. and Butterball LLC.
Under provisions of an agreement with A-State Global Engagement and Outreach, qualifying employees will receive half the scholarship when they begin taking A-State Online classes or on-campus programs and the other half when they enroll in their final class.
In addition, each employer will reimburse eligible employees in accordance with each company’s established guidelines.
The agreement is effective through the spring 2022 semester and can be renewed then.
“Our partners see the value of well-educated employees and their potential to enhance their productivity,” Chancellor Kelly Damphousse said in a news release. “A-State Global Engagement and Outreach and university personnel stand ready to assist interested employees meet their goals for educational attainment and related job advancement.”
GEO representatives will periodically meet with employees who meet general admission requirements, and the standard application fee will be waived for them.
