Arkansas State University recently announced that Jim Washam, associate dean of undergraduate programs, has been named acting dean of the Neil Griffin College of Business.

Washam, who is also an associate professor of finance, will serve as acting dean for the college until the current national search for a permanent dean is complete.

Interim Dean Kathy Loyd is stepping down at the close of this semester, but she will continue as director of the Women’s Business Leadership Center.

Washam joined A-State in 1987. He has served as chair of the economics and finance, accounting, finance and law departments. Washam’s seminars have also attracted major corporate participants ranging from ScotiaBank and JP Morgan Chase to Google and General Electric.
