Acadia Healthcare broke ground Oct. 6 on a $24 million, 65,000-SF behavioral health hospital in Conway.
The 80-bed, freestanding inpatient behavioral health facility will employ approximately 150 and will open in the fourth quarter of 2017, according to a press release from the Conway Chamber of Commerce. The facility will be located at 2255 Sturgis Road.
“Today we break ground on a state of the art healthcare facility that will immediately fill a need for behavioral health care closer to home,” Acadia Division President Richard Clark said in the news release. “Conway has great health care providers and we’re excited about partnering with them to serve surrounding counties.”
Acadia operates a network of 591 behavioral healthcare facilities in 39 states, the United Kingdom and Puerto Rico. They provide behavioral health and addiction services to patients in a variety of settings, including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics and therapeutic school-based programs.
Conway Mayor Tab Townsell said that the groundbreaking was further evidence of Conway’s growing regional influence.
“Today’s groundbreaking is the latest in a trend of high profile projects that further demonstrates Conway as a regional destination for health care,” Townsell said. “This facility will bring quality jobs to our economy and an increased quality of life to its patients and their loved ones.”
