Accountant Robert Erwin Charged With Aggravated Assault

1 min read

Robert F. Erwin, who practiced accounting in Little Rock with his late father, Harry Erwin, is scheduled for arraignment Tuesday morning in Benton County Circuit Court on a charge of aggravated assault on a member of his household.

Erwin didn’t respond to a phone message or email, and no attorney of record is listed with the court.

He was arrested Jan. 6 at a house in Rogers that he apparently shared with a woman whose name Whispers has decided not to print. She told police that Erwin, 52, had threatened her with a handgun. Alcohol was involved, according to the Rogers Police Department report.

According to the Arkansas State Board of Public Accountancy, Robert Erwin listed the Rogers address where the alleged assault occurred as his official address when he renewed his license on Dec. 31.

Before 2014, he had long maintained an accounting practice in the same west Little Rock building as his brother Chuck’s Erwin & Co. But Robert’s Erwin & Co. Partnership is not part of Erwin & Co., and Robert has not been part of Chuck’s firm.

Robert’s accounting practice was one of the assets he kept when his divorce from Martha Ellen Smith was granted on Jan. 21. She got the 4,550-SF house in the Hickory Creek subdivision that they bought for $724,000 in 1996 and paid off in 2012.
