Acxiom Names Nada Stirratt Its First CRO

3 min read

Acxiom Corp. of Little Rock on Tuesday named its first chief revenue officer, Nada Stirratt, who has worked for MySpace and MTV Networks.

"Nada is considered one of the top digital sales leaders in the world, having held senior positions at some of the most iconic companies in the advertising and digital space," Acxiom CEO and President Scott Howe said in a news release.

Acxiom (Nasdaq: %%ACXM%%) made the announcement at the same time it reported third-quarter earnings.

Stirratt is a former chief revenue officer for social networking site MySpace and a former executive vice president of digital advertising for MTV Networks. She also worked for Moviefone and AOL.

As Acxiom’s CRO, she "will be responsible for all field-facing areas, including sales, account management, delivery and consulting at all of Acxiom’s U.S. and international operations," the company said.

Stirratt’s hiring follows the departure of Shawn M. Donovan, executive vice president for global sales, consulting and U.S. markets, who resigned effective Dec. 31.

"Acxiom is in transformation mode, and Nada’s deep knowledge in digital advertising, integrated marketing and delivery offers the perfect fit to advance our marketing and data services, client-centric culture and global footprint," Howe said.

Stirratt is the latest in a string of executives Acxiom has hired from high-profile companies.

Earlier this month, Acxiom announced a new chief financial officer, Warren C. Jenson, who has been CFO of Electronic Arts Inc., Amazon.com Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc. and NBC. Howe, who joined the company in July, is a former executive for Microsoft Advertising Business Groups.

According to an Acxiom 8-k filing, Stirratt’s base salary is $500,000 with an annual bonus opportunity of up to $1 million. She can also get overachievement bonuses of $100,000 for each 1 percent of qualifying revenue attained above annual targets. She’ll also get a cash signing bonus of $100,000, less taxes.

In a conference call with analysts on Tuesday, Howe said he hopes to fine-tune the company’s senior leadership. He said when he entered the company, the system was "confusing and bureaucratic." Howe considers the hiring of Jenson and Stirratt as part of that fine-tuning.

Howe also said a recruiting team is still on the search for a chief product officer, who would have a "strong track record of designing innovative products and bringing them to market quickly," Howe said.

Digital Sales

Stirratt joined MySpace in October 2009. There, she established MySpace Studio, described as "an in-house creative think tank" to develop new products, content and marketing programs for advertisers and consumers.

Most recently, Stirratt had been working to streamline MySpace’s sales efforts by repositioning its sales force and adding a new self-service advertising platform.

At MTV Networks, she oversaw digital advertising sales, strategy and operations across all web properties. She also worked as senior vice president of corporate development at Advertising.com.

Stirratt began working in the digital space in 1997 as senior vice president of advertising for Moviefone, the online movie listing and information service. After Moviefone was sold to AOL in 1999, Stirratt became vice president of business development at AOL.

"I believe we are at a critical time in the world of marketing and customer communication. The convergence of the media and data businesses is happening and Acxiom, with its impressive suite of  products, is uniquely positioned to lead these discussions," Stirratt said in the Acixom news release.

"I look forward to being a part of a truly world-class management team and helping Acxiom clients succeed in this exciting space."
