Looks like Little Rock’s Acxiom Corp. is going after a couple of its former employees.
According to a suit filed with the Pulaski County Circuit Court, the two employees, Michael Briggs and Michael Cool, both live near Cleveland.
Both men were top executives for Acxiom Information Security Services Inc., Acxiom’s background screening unit that in December was sold for $74 million to Sterling Infoservices Inc. of New York.
Briggs and Cool both left AISS in December around the same time the sale was announced. While at AISS, they had accrued wealth in restricted Acxiom shares – Briggs had acquired $16,746.31 and Cool had built up $221,387.50.
Soon, the two men took jobs at First Advantage of St. Petersburg, Fla., a background screening company.
Acxiom alleges First Advantage was a competitor when Cool and Briggs joined it, and by taking a job at a competing company, the men violated the boundaries of their restricted stock.
Acxiom wants its $238,133.81 back, and the former employees haven’t paid up.
Acxiom declined to comment on the lawsuit. Neither Briggs nor Cool could be reached by press time.
