The Arkansas Advanced Energy Association will gather to hear industry discussions and honor leaders in the advanced energy sector at its 11th convention and policy conference on Nov. 10.
And for the first time, the Little Rock-based industry group will be convening in northwest Arkansas, at the Don Tyson Center for Agricultural Sciences in Fayetteville. A welcome reception is planned for the evening before, Nov. 9, at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.
The event, called emPOWER Arkansas, is billed as the state’s largest gathering in the advanced energy field, including business leaders in energy efficiency, demand response, natural gas electricity generation, solar and wind power, nuclear energy, electric vehicles and alternative fuels.
About 200 attendees are expected, and speakers will discuss career education and skills development, government policy and the changing landscape of advanced energy initiatives across the state.
The convention will also feature a luncheon and awards ceremony honoring industry achievers, and registered participants will have access to discounted tickets to the Arkansas Razorbacks’ home football game against the Auburn Tigers on Nov. 11.
AAEA board Chair Alex Ray, director of business development for Johnson Controls and a 2022 Arkansas Business 40 Under 40 honoree, said the gathering will highlight notable investments and success stories in the industry and offer “an optimal opportunity to share, learn and collaborate.”
The association is seeking nominations by Sept. 29 for several awards:
- The Ron Bell Advanced Energy Award, which honors an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the industry and had a significant impact.
- The Advanced Energy Rising Star Award, which goes to a relative newcomer in the industry whose work contributes a growing impact.
- The Power Partnership Award, recognizing an exemplary collaboration between an energy utility and customer that achieved common goals.
- And the Power Project of the Year Award, which recognizes a notable energy project that makes a difference for the state.
Nominations may be submitted here by Friday, Sept. 29. Full details on the conference are online.
An estimated 200 participants are expected to attend and sponsorships are available. A complete list of sponsorship online here.
