Arkansas’ power generation and transmission cooperative has a new vice president of power production, Kollin Derynck.
Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp., the wholesale power provider for Arkansas’ 17 local electric cooperatives, announced Derynck’s appointment on Monday.
A 16-year electric utility veteran, Derynck spent 15 of those years with MidAmerican Energy, which serves 800,000 electric customers in Iowa, Illinois and South Dakota.
“He has held positions of increased importance pertaining to the operation, maintenance and development of power generation facilities for his previous employer’s 11,000-megawatt portfolio,” AECC said in a news release.
As vice president of power production for AECC, Derynck will direct the operation, maintenance and development of the cooperative’s electricity generating facilities.
He has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Iowa State University and a mini master of business administration certificate from the University of Nebraska.
