Jennifer Fowler has been named director of the Arkansas National Science Foundation Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research by the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
She is replacing Steve Stanley, who recently retired from the position. Fowler currently serves as director of education, outreach and diversity at EPSCoR.
Rajesh Nayak has received the 2020 FBI Director’s Community Leadership Award. The award honors individuals and organizations for their efforts in combating crime, terrorism, drugs and violence in the United States.
Nayak, an associate director at the Federal Drug Administration’s National Center for Toxicological Research in Jefferson County, has worked with the FBI Little Rock’s InfraGard program to encourage the sharing of cyberthreat information with community and business leaders. He also spreads awareness of the threats weapons of mass destruction pose, encouraging businesses and private organizations to contact the Little Rock office of the FBI for targeted briefings.
“As an FBI ambassador in Arkansas, his ability to educate businesses, organizations, and neighbors on the multitude of threats we work helps protect our state. FBI Little Rock cannot fulfill our mission of protecting the American people without Arkansans like Dr. Nayak,” said James Dawson, the newly appointed special agent in charge of the FBI Little Rock Field Office.
