Amanda Jaeger Joins KTHV as Noon Anchor

1 min read

There’s a new beauty queen at KTHV, Channel 11, which lost former Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady to Atlanta’s WAGA this summer. Amanda Jaeger, who was crowned Miss Kansas in 2014, joined the Little Rock CBS affiliate last week as a reporter and anchor of the noon newscast.

Jaeger, 25, who comes to Little Rock from KWCH in Wichita, competed in the Miss America contest two years ago. A Missouri native, she is a 2013 graduate of the University of Central Missouri, where she was named top female undergraduate, and has done graduate work at the University of Kansas and Wichita State, according to her resume. Sorry, guys, she was married last year to Mitch Jaeger, who met her while serving her coffee at Starbucks.

Eady’s morning anchor spot was filled last month by another Missouri native, Rob Evans, who came to “THV 11 This Morning” from WZVN, ABC7 in Fort Myers, Florida. Evans, 39, is a University of Missouri graduate who previously worked in Medford, Oregon, and Springfield, Missouri. KTHV is promoting Evans and his young family in promotional ads, and on Wednesday, a day after KTHV issued a news release about Jaeger’s arrival, Evans tweeted his welcome: “Welcome Amanda! You’re going to love it here!”
