Amber Pool Appointed to Medical Marijuana Commission

Arkansas House Speaker Matthew Shepherd has named Amber Pool of Lonoke to the Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission.

Pool will serve a four-year term replacing Jessica Mobley, whose term on the five-person commission expired on March 6, 2023.

Pool is the co-owner of Pool Fisheries Specialty Fish in Lonoke. She previously served as director of operations/executive administrator to the House speaker.

The commission is tasked with administering and regulating the issuance of licenses to operate medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities. Two members are appointed by the House speaker.

The commission has recently come under scrutiny for licensing irregularities and reports of attempted bribery.
