The episode of “American Greed” that we’ve all been waiting for — the tale of North Little Rock’s own John Rogers — will air Monday night, Oct. 1, on CNBC.

In addition to an interview with Arkansas Business Senior Editor George Waldon, the episode includes a phone interview with Rogers, now an inmate at the federal correctional institute at Forrest City, in which he makes some typically braggadocious claims about his sports memorabilia business.

“It was like printing money basically. I mean, I could have sold kilos of cocaine — I would have made less money,” he said in one excerpt included in a video promoting the upcoming program.

He also said he forged thousands of Muhammad Ali signatures after the legendary boxer died in June 2016, more than two years after the FBI executed search warrants on his home and business and only three months before he was indicted by federal prosecutors in Chicago.

Rogers has been incarcerated since November because federal prosecutors presented evidence that he had continued to work his frauds after reaching a plea agreement in March 2017. He was sentenced in December to 12 years in federal prison and ordered to pay $23.5 million in restitution.

And the feds are looking for the money.

Ed Daniel IV, registered agent for Photo Archives LLC, has been summoned to Chicago by the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.

Daniel is the attorney for Mac Hogan, an investor who landed a $30.7 judgment against Rogers and tried to salvage the business. Daniel is scheduled to appear on Oct. 15.
