American Safeguard to Build in ConwayLock Icon

American Safeguard Insurance is planning to build and move into a new office building in Conway.

Chairman Jeff Standridge told Whispers the agency had already secured a verbal agreement to purchase land “very close to our current location” at 1100 Bob Courtway Drive, No. 16, in Conway.

He declined to disclose more about where the land is and how much American Safeguard plans to spend on it, saying that a formal contract must be signed before either is revealed.

“We’re very early in the process. We have reached a verbal agreement on a piece of ground,” Standridge said. “I cannot disclose [exactly where] as of yet, and we’ll be working through the process to, hopefully, begin construction, to close out on the land purchase and begin construction in the next several months. We’re pretty excited about it.”

He said the agency had outgrown its current office after a dozen years or so. In fact, based on growth during the past 36 months, American Safeguard expects to be pressed for space in the next 12 months and out of space in the next 18 months, Standridge said.

He added that the agency’s verbal agreement to purchase the land was first announced earlier this month at a 2020 kickoff event held for customers, partners, providers, carriers and employees and their families.
