America’s Car-Mart Closes 13 Locations Amid Financial Struggles

1 min read

America’s Car-Mart Inc. of Rogers announced Tuesday that it had closed 13 locations of the buy-here, pay-here automobile dealer.

The closures included five dealerships in Arkansas: Hope, Malvern, Russellville, Springdale and Van Buren.

The company said the dealerships were consolidated with better-performing locations, from which customers would continue to receive service.

The closures, coupled with five earlier closures in 2025, come on the heels of a rough financial stretch for the company. In December, America’s Car-Mart reported losing $22.5 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2026.

“Our footprint optimization strategy reflects our commitment to operational excellence and disciplined capital allocation,” CEO Doug Campbell said in a statement. “By concentrating resources in our highest-performing markets, we are positioning Car-Mart to deliver improved returns while maintaining the exceptional customer experience that defines our brand. The flexibility provided by our new capital structure enables us to make these strategic decisions with confidence.

“These decisions are never easy, and we approach them with deep respect for our associates, our customers, and the communities we serve. By realigning our footprint, we can operate more efficiently while continuing to provide the high level of service our customers expect. These actions allow us to continue modernizing our business, better utilize our inventory and teams, and strengthen performance at our remaining locations.”
