University of Arkansas System President Donald Bobbitt named Ana Hunt as the interim chancellor for the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College on Friday.
This follows the retirement of the previous chancellor, Margaret Ellibee, who had led the two-year college since 2012 and oversaw its merger with the UA System in 2017.
Hunt began working at UA-PTC in 2019 as a registrar, and has served as an associate provost since 2021.
“My passion for students and the mission of this college is unmatched, and I look forward to continuing to work with the talented team Dr. Ellibee has in place and providing opportunities to those who seek to better their lives through higher education” she said in a news release.
Hunt holds a bachelor’s in natural science from the University of Arkansas at Monticello and a master’s from Arkansas Tech University. She earned a doctorate in educational leadership and management from Capella University of Minnesota.
“Following extensive conversations it became very apparent that Dr. Hunt is the right person to provide strong leadership for the institution during this critical transition period,” Bobbitt said in the release.
An advisory search committee has been announced to help guide the search for a new, permanent chancellor.
