Anchor Alyse Eady Takes Maternity LeaveLock Icon

If you’ve wondered how 2010 Miss Arkansas Alyse Eady is doing five years into her gig as an Atlanta TV anchor, let’s just say that her hands are full.

Eady, who left Little Rock’s KTHV to join WAGA in Atlanta in August 2016, gave birth July 21 to a second child, Wyatt Lemmond, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 11 ounces, including a head of dark hair like mom’s. “Now I know why I had so much heartburn … look at all that hair,” Eady joked.

Wyatt is the first boy for Eady, who hails from Fort Smith, and husband Patrick Lemmond, a fellow Ouachita Baptist University graduate and an accountant at the Federal Home Loan

Bank in Atlanta. Eady, who sent Whispers pictures of little Wyatt and his adorable 2 1/2-year-old sister, Sofia, called Wyatt “the biggest snuggle bug.”

“Awww,” said absolutely everybody in reply.

The children are far cuter than Rosie and Rocky, the ventriloquist’s puppets Eady led in singing “I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart” in the talent competition at the 2011 Miss America pageant in Las Vegas. Eady was first runner-up to that year’s winner, Miss Nebraska Teresa Scanlan.

Eady told Whispers she’s taking 14 weeks of maternity leave from Fox 5, where she’s an anchor on “Good Morning Atlanta.” It’s not the most restful break from work, but the family feels deeply blessed, she said. “Life is good.”
