Andrew Faulkner, CEO of Staley Technologies of Springdale, has been elected chairman of the state board of Junior Achievement of Arkansas in Little Rock.
Matthew Emery has been promoted associate director of marketing and public relations at the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton.
Jennifer Dawes has been selected as the next chair of the Department of Rhetoric & Writing at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Dawes replaces Joyce Carter, who retired in June after nine years at UA Little Rock.
Neveen Shafeek Amin, associate professor of sociology, has been appointed interim co-director of the School of Human Inquiry at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Amin joined the college in 2015, and has since received more than a dozen awards and grants for her research, teaching and service.
In addition, Michael Norton, former co-director of the School of Human Inquiry, has been named the associate dean for student and faculty success at the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences & Education at UA Little Rock.
Opal Flowers has been hired at Baptist Health Heart Failure & Transplant Institute in Little Rock. Flowers, a native of Romance, received her licensed practical nurse certification from Baptist Health College-Little Rock.
Dr. Peyton Maddox has been hired as a family medicine physician at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Northeast Regional Campus in Jonesboro. Maddox will provide non-emergent care to Greene and surrounding counties, including management of chronic diseases and conditions, urgent care services, wellness visits, health screenings and more.
Dr. Garrett Lewis has been appointed vice president of medical affairs for central Arkansas at CHI St. Vincent of Little Rock. Lewis, a board-certified emergency physician, has more than 11 years of experience practicing medicine as an emergency care specialist.
