Angele Forrest has been named president of Junior Achievement of Arkansas, the statewide nonprofit that promotes financial literacy among young people.

In the role, Forrest will manage the organization’s work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy programs, which reach more than 14,000 K-12 students in the state.

“We are excited about the appointment of Angele Forrest,” Mitch Bettis, chairman of the Junior Achievement of Arkansas board of directors, said in a news release. “Her longtime service to JA in Arkansas and her unique knowledge and passion for our community makes her a great asset to JA’s mission.”

(Bettis is president and publisher of Arkansas Business Publishing Group of Little Rock.)

Forrest has more than 20 years in the financial services industry with focus on marketing, public and community relations. During the last two years, she held a leadership role in new product-to-market business solutions with Euronet Software of Little Rock.

“I am proud and honored to join a prestigious organization like JA, which is celebrating 30 years in Arkansas,” Forrest said. “Their dedication to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their own economic success has resonated with me since high school when I was a part of a JA program. My primary focus is to ensure Arkansas students experience JA’s high-quality programs and are given the business and economic skills necessary to improve the quality of their lives.”

Junior Achievement of Arkansas was founded in 1987. It is part of Junior Achievement USA, which aims to help young people succeed in a global economy. JA programs are delivered by corporate and community volunteers and reaches 4.8 million students per year in more than 100 markets across the U.S. It serves an additional 5.6 million students served by operations in more than 100 other countries worldwide.
