The Brandon Burlsworth Foundation named Dennis Anderson to its board of directors.
Anderson is the chief strategy officer for ArcBest Corp. of Fort Smith. He joined ArcBest in 2003 and has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Burlsworth was an All-American offensive lineman for the University of Arkansas before dying in a car accident 11 days after he was selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts in 1999. His brother, Marty, created the foundation to help children, most notably by providing glasses to underprivileged children.
“It is an honor to be a member of the Brandon Burlsworth Foundation board of directors,” Anderson said. “I’m excited to begin contributing to the great work the foundation does in Arkansas and across the nation. I love the mission of the BBF and I’m a big believer in ‘The Burls Way.’ ”
Anderson is the 15th member of the foundation’s board of directors.
“We are extremely pleased to have Dennis join the BBF board,” Marty Burlsworth said. “He not only brings a great deal of business experience to the BBF but is a great advocate for our programs and cares deeply about the children we serve.”
