Arkansas Advanced Energy Association Conference Set for Oct. 17 in Little Rock

Three of the region’s experts on energy efficiency technology and investment trends will be in Little Rock next week for a one-day Arkansas Advanced Energy Association conference at the Doubletree Hotel in downtown Little Rock.

The one-day annual meeting, Empowering Arkansas, is set for Oct. 17. 

Joe Mowery, managing director at Stephens Inc., will moderate a panel with Randy Hoff, CEO of Cenergistic of Dallas, Texas, and Glenn Garland, chairman and CEO of ClearResult of Austin, Texas. The panel will discuss the future of energy efficiency.

Jim Metzger, principal and economist at Histecon Associates Inc., will give a presentation on his preliminary findings from a comprehensive Advanced Energy Jobs Census, which was commissioned by Arkansas Advanced Energy Foundation. 

“We’ve had a great response from advanced energy leaders across the state,” Steve Patterson, AAEA executive director, said in a news release. “This will be a day to reflect on our successes so far and to identify the challenges that lie ahead.”

9:30 a.m. 

  • Remarks from U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor
  • Policy Roundtable: Arkansas Advanced Energy Companies Poised to Answer the Clean Power Challenge — Ken Smith, AAEA policy director, and Matt Stanberry, vice president of market development for the Advanced Energy Economy, will moderate this discussion on the latest array of advanced energy technologies in Arkansas.

Noon  

  • Lunch and presentation of Ron Bel Advanced Energy Leadership Award 
  • Joe Mowery, managing director at Stephens Inc., will moderate a discussion on the future of energy efficiency.

1:30 p.m. 

  • Remarks from gubernatorial candidates Mike Ross and Asa Hutchinson
  • Advanced Energy Jobs Census Briefing – Jim Metzger, principal and economist at Histecon Associates Inc., presents preliminary findings of AAEF-commissioned study.
