The partners of Arkansas Allergy & Asthma Clinic announced Wednesday that they are now affiliated with Family Allergy & Asthma of Louisville, Kentucky.
The deal closed on Aug. 24. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
Arkansas Allergy & Asthma Clinic will continue to operate under its name as a division of Family Allergy & Asthma. There will be no reduction of staff and its two offices in Little Rock and Conway will remain open.
The resources provided by Family Allergy & Asthma, a regional allergy and asthma medical practice, will support practice operations, allow for enhanced collaboration for innovative treatments and focus on patient care, according to a news release.
Arkansas Allergy & Asthma Clinic was established in 1930 and is the medical practice of board-certified allergists Drs. Kelly Burks, Lori Kagy, Eddie Shields, Lindsay Still and Nancy Zuerlein.
“The business side of running a practice has only grown more complex, and Family Allergy & Asthma’s resources will free us up to focus solely on our patients,” Shields said in the release. “We believe this new partnership will further our mission to provide leading allergy and asthma care to the people of this region.”
Dr. Jim Sublett, co-founder and chief medical officer of Family Allergy & Asthma, added, “By bringing together our resources and these respected allergists, we believe the future is bright in Arkansas and that we can expand access to trusted allergy care in the region.”
Family Allergy & Asthma first expanded into Arkansas on July 15, acquiring Allergy Clinic P.A. of Jonesboro, the practice of Dr. Scot Snodgrass.
The regional practice has 50 offices in Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. It was founded in 1979 and employs 43 board-certified allergists.
