Arkansas Children’s Northwest Receives $2M Grant From Mabee Foundation

1 min read

Arkansas Children’s announced Thursday a $2 million challenge grant from the J.E. & L.E. Mabee Foundation of  Tulsa to support the expansion of Arkansas Children’s Northwest in Springdale.

The ACNW’s ongoing expansion project, which kicked off in early 2024, will include added surgical space, more operating rooms, procedure rooms, hospital beds and additional clinic space. The hospital is currently the only pediatric hospital and pediatric emergency department in the northwest Arkansas region.

The donation marks the continuation of a 37-year partnership between Arkansas Children’s and the Mabee Foundation, with total grants from the foundation exceeding $8 million.

“This grant is very exciting for Arkansas Children’s, because it means we have met the challenge and have had great momentum from the incredible generosity of our community,” Fred Scarborough, executive vice president and chief development officer at Arkansas Children’s, said in a press release.

ACNW has received other recent donations for the expansion project, including both a $5 million grant and a $1 million donation in October.
